IOS is now seeking nominations for the officer positions of president, secretary, members at large, nominating committee, and public affairs committee chairperson. Self nominations are invited. An "Intention to Serve" form is available here. Officer duties are indicated on the form or can be found in the bylaws. Nominations are due by Monday, September 17th to Nola Schmidt as indicated in the attachment.

Purposes:
The purposes of the Society are to:• Establish a world-wide network for interaction among nurses interested in Orem's conceptualizations of nursing.
• Expand, refine, and clarify understanding of Orem's conceptualizations of nursing.
• Provide avenues for gathering, organizing, and disseminating knowledge developed in relation to Orem's conceptualizations of nursing.
• Facilitate the use of Orem's conceptualizations of nursing as a basis for nursing education, practice, research, and theory development.
• Advance nursing science by promoting scientific and scholarship activity.
